Resources are essential for maintaining an online business and networking. I recommend services I believe in and trust based on integrity, quality customer service and of course, value. All affiliate links are ones I’ve used for my business and many of the resources are free!

Organization + Work Flow

Evernote (free) is a space to store all your blog posts, ideas, notes, sync files across your devices, save webpages, capture inspiration, and share your ideas with friends and colleagues. You can also create notebooks, tags and categories to keep your work organized within Evernote.

It eliminates emailing large media files.

Google Calendar (free) No more stressing about organizing your schedule. It’s straightforward and works! It includes alerts and reminders so you don’t have to stress about time management. You can even use it to schedule in breaks, fitness and self-care. You can sync it to any device and also sync it with apps like Calendly for scheduling client appointments. All you need is a Gmail account to begin using it.

Google Drive (free) Drive starts you with 15 GB of free Google storage, so you can keep pictures, stories, designs, drawings, recordings, videos – anything. See your stuff anywhere. I’ve used it for sharing files and documents with clients by link and editing documents to and from services for my business. It’s not meant for fancy editing, layout or design but it’s reliable and convenient.

Website + Hosting + Newsletter Mail

GoDaddy I only recommend GoDaddy for domain purchases. They are the largest domain company in the world and they take customer care quite seriously. Their Website Hosting Service has been reliable. I’ve no complaints about downtime and they have very reasonable rates.

Blue Host For your domain/website hosting service. This is an alternative to GoDaddy. I’m recommending this service for hosting even though I’ve not used it because people I respect have.

Leadpages (fee) Software is the world’s easiest landing page generator. It’s the easiest way to build conversion optimized & mobile responsive landing pages. Create powerful sales pages, webinar registration pages, video sales training pages that convert, using their drag and drop system that syncs to your email auto-responder. Communication + Client Calls

Free Conference Call I really enjoy this service and so do clients. It’s also very easy to set up an account and email an invite to clients. You can record any conference call to share with clients or use as reference.

Google Voice allows you to manage all your phone numbers under one unique phone number that is tied to you, not to a device or location. Use Google voice to keep your actual private phone number, confidential. It’s not a phone service. It’s a way of managing all your phone numbers.

Skype (free with option to upgrade) Text, voice and video conferencing service to meet, conduct business and connect with people.

Skype Call Recorder (for Mac only) I’ve not used this product. Just sharing the link for convenience.

Creative Media Design + Surveys

Adobe Kuler Wheel Amazing tool for matching colors, creating website themes, etc. You can literally snap shot something with a color you like and it will give you that color’s code. This is very useful when creating your branding color theme. It’s free – check it out!

PicMonkey (free with upgrade option) My absolute favorite app for making banners, social media headers + website overlays! It’s super versatile to use. Don’t even think twice about upgrading–it’s totally worth it.

Canva (free with upgrade option) A design tool like PicMonkey to turn your ideas into stunning designs for Web or print, blog graphics, presentations, Facebook covers, flyers posters, invitations and more. You can also use it to embellish your picmonkey designs.

Color Emotion Guide Just as it says and it’s pretty cool! While you’re having fun with picmonkey and canva, let color enhance your messaging.

TypeForm Typeform is a single tool that builds all sorts of competitions, with the perfect looks for social media.

Video/Webinars + Audio + Equipment

People have different opinions on video equipment. Cameras are very personal tools. Some prefer Canon, others Nikon. I’ve enjoyed the Canon Rebel and GoPro. Do your research in a store like Bestbuy and actually test out the camera in person, see how it feels, functions and obviously find something within your budget. I know lots of folks buy online but if you’re just starting out with video, I don’t recommend starting with high end equipment because there’s a steep learning curve.

Blue Yeti Microphone Blue Yeti is a popular microphone with online entrepreneurs Vloggers and podcasters. It’s versatile and easy to use. The sound quality is excellent for the price. Starting at about $89. Can be purchased on Amazon. Consider getting an inexpensive filter as well, like this Nady Pop Filter for under $20.

Lighting Kit As with all these resources, I encourage you to shop around for what fits your situation personally. This lighting kit is a good value and I know people that use it everyday and love it. It’s great for enhancing lighting when space is limited.

Video Traffic Academy* If you want to learn about creating videos to monetize on YouTube, this is the only course I recommend! You’ll also learn about purchasing equipment, lighting and how to tweak your existing setup to make better videos on a budget. Amazing online training with a supportive engaged community for only $197!

This platform uses Google Hangouts to help you connect with your audience, screen share, chat and even take polls. The offer easy to follow video training to get you started.
